No 'poo!

Hello :)
Now, if you haven't caught on by my title, I am not saying that the effectiveness of my bowels has become ineffective. That's all I plan to say on THAT subject. With that out of the way I will now explain the concept of "No 'Poo".
Steps to "No 'Poo":

1. Take your shampoo and conditioner and throw them out the window.

2. Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 1 cup of water.

3. Put a little of this mixture in your hair, but mostly concentrate on your scalp where most of the oils in your hair come from. As your scalp heals so does your hair.

4. Mix 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar and 1 cup of water.

5. Put a little of this mixture in your hair. This will act as conditioner to untangle your hair.

You will only need to do this once or twice a week. The measurements are flexible to what works for you as well. You can put them in your old shampoo bottles too. Reduce, reuse, recycle! Don't forget to shake it up before use though! You only need to do this for one or two of your showers every week.

I started this method about a month ago.I started it because I developed an allergic reaction to every single shampoo I used. Specifically one. I used it for a week and I scratched my head one day and it started to bleed. Feel free to be disgusted by my head now. I was. I knew I had to do something different so I started reading about No 'Poo. I learned it's healthier and cheaper for you. Shampoo has chemicals that strip your hair of natural and healthy oils. All these chemicals seep into the pores in your skin and can stay there for a long time.

After I started this method I noticed an immediate change in my scalp. After this month of No 'Poo my head is still kind of dry,but it is getting better and is a drastic change from when it bled from a simple brushing. My hair is also much more well behaved. I have naturally dry hair and it is already much less dry, but not oily. It's less frizzy. I have hardly put any hair products in it and it holds a style.Of course I still have to straighten my hair sometimes, but I have big wavy curls so it's natural I would straighten it sometimes. My mother has also hopped on the No 'Poo train. Her hair did take longer to adjust, but she has tight curls. Her head was also breaking out from shampoo. This was mostly due to her diabetes. Her head is now almost completely healed along with mine! Yesterday she only put Curly hair lotion in her hair and it didn't explode as bad as usual. She normally uses that lotion, mousse, spray gel, and anything else she can find to make her hair stay put. (and it usually doesn't)

I started No 'Poo the week of my prom. That might not have been the wisest decision, but my hair behaved despite the recent change!
